We celebrated a best friend's 40th birthday in Michigan. We hiked, took a boat tour, drove down unknown gravel roads, and overall had a blast. Good friends. Good times. No writing. But I did come up with a new story for DSL3!

It's been a busy summer! This past weekend, I supported friends as an exhibitor at their booth during Origins Game Fair. That was epic. I also attended several graduations. I managed to write a couple chapters during layovers at the airport, but I'm still a ways from completing the next book. We'll get there!

I played in the mud over the weekend as a part of...research. Yeah, research! My characters vault over obstacles, climb to impossible heights, and take part in the occasional teamwork. I participated in all of those at Tough Mudder, which means I'm better equipped to describe my characters doing the same. Now that I think about it, none of my characters have done anything in water, never mind mud. Ah well...haha!

It was tough, ya'll. I got shocked. A couple people didn't quite make it through that obstacle. I helped get a few stout persons over an eight-foot wall and then similarly strong people practically launched me over said wall.

In addition to writing, I’m a board game enthusiast with over 300 titles in my collection. I enjoy going to events and playing new ones, such as the one featured below. There’ll be little writing this weekend and much gaming!

I’m on a little vacation. I almost brought my tablet, but glad I didn’t. I have a lot planned for when I get back. Until then, enjoy this rare photo of me in the wild… And yes, that’s electrical tape holding the swing together.
